Clean >> Filtration Processes
Activated carbons adsorb impurities from liquids to ensure very high purity levels, and are designed to target specific molecular sizes; Micromolecules, Mesomolecules & Macromolecules.
A wide range of different activated carbons is required to cover all potential needs. Dosage varies in the range of 0.1 to 2 g/l.

Cure >> Healthcare Products
Highly efficient to remove molecules present in low concentration in liquid or gas phase, activated carbon is used to trap toxins or poison in the digestive system.
Grades: PICACTIF Medical EP ll / lll, PICACTIF 5P, C-TEX 27, PICATOX BCC P
Carry >> Catalyst Support And Filtration By Chemisorption
The extremely large surface area of activated carbon (up to 2000 m2/g) makes it an ideal support for reaction: it can hold precious metals to serve as catalyst in chemical reactions, or be impregnated with metal salts or organic products to enhance its filtration performance towards a specific compound.
The use of activated carbons with high surface area and hard mechanical resistance ensure optimum yields in the reaction processes.

Decolourisation
High activity activated carbons with an open porosity are specifically designed to adsorb the colour bodies. The dosage is usually in the range of 0.5 to 0.2 g/l.
Deodorization
Off-flavour components are removed by activated carbons with a smaller pore size. Dosage will usually be in the range of 0.1 to 0.5 g/l.
Purification
Microporous activated carbons are used to trap toxic compounds.

Edible Oil Industry |
|
Activated Carbon is used to remove several critical compounds for compliance with FEDIOL standards (European oil producers association):
• Colours: Carrotenoids, Chlorophylls, Xanthophylls
• Impurities: PAH, residues of soaps, phosphates, metals, oxidation products dioxins...
• Odorous compounds and colour precursors
Grades: PICAPURE B9, PICAPURE B5, PICAPURE HP X |
Glucose Industry |
|
Activated Carbon removes impurities from the raw materials and those generated in the process, such as off-state resulting from the use of resins:
• Colour compounds (d-glucose such as caramel).
• Colour precursors (such as HMF) and hydrolysis decomposition products.
• Foaming products, which may be present in glucose syrup.
